Equus and Such
Exhibition Dates: June 4 - July 12, 2015
Opening Reception: June 4, 6-9pm

I am pleased to announce that four pieces from my latest project will be part of a group show starting next week! Organized by veteran artists Bruce Waldman and Patricia Wynne, "Equus and Such" will include works in all media from over 100 New York area artists. As suggested by the show's title, the connecting theme is "The Horse."

The work I will be showing--Four Horsemen--is a quadriptych of the four knights from a traditional deck of tarot cards I have been hand-carving and printing on a Vandercook letterpress. The knights are archetypes of action, and are considered the "facilitators" in each of the four suits. In naming the grouping "Four Horsemen," I reference the legendary heralds of the apocalypse as an acknowledgment of how the tarot has long been believed to herald news of the future.

Mehu Gallery is open Tuesday-Sunday, 1pm to 6pm. It will be closed for Fourth of July weekend.
The opening reception on Thursday, June 3rd will feature wine, beverages, and light food.

It's a no brainer: Kids + Art = Awesome.

So, I'm super excited to be supporting arts enrichment programming at a great Williamsburg public school by donating a work to their fundraiser auction!

The PTA of PS 84 José De Diego is hosting their 4th annual PS 84 Gala & Silent Auction to help support ongoing fundraising efforts. Emceed by performance artist Guy Richards Smit, this unique event hosts some of Brooklyn’s favorite artists in a once-a-year art oriented silent auction with over 30 artists represented. The silent auction features contemporary art, photography, handmade jewelry, art to wear, and more. DJ Valentino will be throwing down tracks and 11 "Pop Up" restaurants from local eateries will be feeding the art-hungry masses.

All proceeds benefit the enrichment programs at PS 84 José De Diego. For more information about the school, visit www.ps84k.org.

Tickets and auction information are available at ps84gala.splashthat.com.

I'm in my second group show this year! Huzzah!

In an exchange organized by The Sketchbook Project, 500 artists from around the world signed up to make an edition of 12 prints inspired by the theme "Let This Be A Sign…" Each participating artist then received a print from 10 different artists in exchange. Of the two remaining prints in each artist's edition, one will be on display for this exhibition, and the final print will become a permanent part of The Brooklyn Art Library's archive.

The gallery at 7 Dunham is open to the public 12-5pm on the weekend, and by appointment Monday 8/4 -Thursday 8/7. Call the number below to schedule a viewing.

Downstate/Upstate: Blackburn Exchange Show
Exhibition Dates: April 4 - April 29, 2014
Opening Reception: April 4th, 5-8pm

My most recent work--Daphne & Apollo--was selected to show in a juried exhibition sponsored by the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop (RBPMW) and The Ink Shop Printmaking Center!

The show, "Downstate/Upstate," is the second installment of a collaboration between the two printshops. In 2013, works by members of the Ink Shop in Ithaca, NY were exhibited in the Robert Blackburn's New York City location, and this year prints by 51 RBPMW members (myself included!) are going onto the walls of the Ink Shop's gallery.

If you're in the upstate New York area, you can see the show from April 4 through April 29th. The Ink Shop galleries are open to the public Tuesday-Friday 12-6pm, and Saturday 12-4pm.
